🌕 Luna Days — Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 22, 2026

Luna Days is built so we could write a very short privacy policy: we collect nothing, and we couldn't read your data if we wanted to.

What Luna stores

Your countdowns, count-ups, tags, photos and settings are stored on your device. If you are signed into iCloud, they also sync privately between your own devices through your personal iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit private database). We operate no servers of our own, hold no copy of your data, and have no ability to access what syncs through your iCloud.

What Luna collects

Nothing. No analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers, no third-party SDKs, no accounts.

Contacts

If you choose "Import Birthdays," Luna asks for read access to your contacts and shows you only the people who have a birthday, so you can pick who to import. Only the people you check are saved — as events, on your device. If you grant limited access, Luna works with just the contacts you shared; if you decline access entirely, Luna falls back to Apple's out-of-process contact picker, which shares only the individuals you hand it. Nothing is ever written to your contacts.

Calendar

If you choose "Import from Calendar," Luna reads your upcoming events so you can select which to import. Nothing is ever written to or changed in your calendar. The permission can be revoked anytime in Settings.

Photos and camera

Photos you attach to events — picked with Apple's out-of-process photo picker or taken with the camera — are stored in Luna's database on your device and, like your other event data, sync only within your own iCloud.

Notifications

Reminders and milestone celebrations are local notifications scheduled on your device. Luna registers for silent remote notifications for one purpose only: so iCloud can tell the app that your own data changed on another of your devices. We never send push messages.

Deleting your data

Deleting an event deletes its data, including photos, on all your synced devices. Deleting the app removes everything stored locally; data in your iCloud can be removed by deleting events first, or via Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage.
